Founded in 2008, Catalyst Financial Partners is a specialist investor events and services firm for the private funds industry. We link together alpha-oriented private funds and institutional grade investors.

The management of Catalyst has a deep network of institutional investors in in the US which makes up the bulk of allocations to the private investment funds industry in the world. The firm has particularly strong knowledge of family office investors as well as endowments and foundations, and their advisors.

We aim to foster relationships with investment managers that start with a consultative dialogue to understand an investment firm and its capital raising strategy. Our investor events are one component of our services platform, and we often consult with managers before, during and after our events.

For investors, we stay apprised on individual strategy preferences, return objectives, regional desires, and other characteristics that allow us to host managers that are most appropriate. Our events, as well as our management, also act as an information resource for investors on current fund investing industry trends and developments.

Catalyst Cap Intro events are investor driven and transactional events that host alpha-oriented investment managers and institutional grade investors that are introduced to each other with a view to become investment partners.

The ‘search and partnering up’ GP/LP process in the alternative investing industry is tough: Raising capital and finding sophisticated, active investors is a constant challenge for funds, especially for smaller managers.

Conversely, for investors, it is difficult to identify appropriate managers that can help achieve their portfolio goals. This fall 2020 Catalyst Cap Intro Event focuses on the Emerging Markets and Commodities Alternative Investing sectors.  Strategies covered include, among others: Frontier markets, South America & Brazil, Eastern Europe/Russia, China with SE Asia, India, Global EM as well as sovereign and EM debt. In Commodities, we expect representation from managers active in Energy,

Gas, Precious metals and Gold, and Food stuffs, among others. Strategies will include fundamental, trade finance, CTAs, real assets, as well as single projects like oil and gas well drilling enterprises. Managers typically offer their products through investment funds, but also SMAs or advisory features.

At the event managers give short presentations during lunch, which is followed by meeting sessions. There are no service providers, only managers and investors. The event concludes with a networking wine reception.

Introductions are accomplished through private meetings which are arranged prior the events, in an investor driven fashion based on the merits of each investment manager and the requests made by the investors.

Investors are pre-screened and pre-qualified prior the events, by questionnaires and talks. Investors constitute predominantly single and multi-family offices, investor intermediaries, and end-investors, located in the US but also internationally.
