VIVA is the premier global, multidisciplinary course for vascular intervention and medicine.
For the past 14 years, VIVA has delivered excellence in professional education by offering attendees an innovative, provocative, and balanced educational experience. Enhanced by the opinions of all specialties and stakeholders who touch the vascular patient and the use of cutting edge educational technology, VIVA provides a lively interactive learning environment.
Each year, our world-renowned domestic and international faculty challenge attendees and each other by critically evaluating new, evolving therapies and innovations as well as engaging in stimulating discussion on the year’s most challenging cases. VIVA participants learn from one another in an environment that truly supports camaraderie. VIVA does not shy away from the tough issues, and with our colleagues from regulatory and reimbursement organizations, VIVA exposes obstacles and limitations in the care of vascular patients.
With multiple learning venues and formats, intense and focused education, the latest in advanced technology, new hands-on workshops, more global live cases, and the latest clinical data presentations, VIVA 16 is a must-see educational event for the dedicated vascular specialist!
The target audience for this CME activity is physicians who specialize in, among other areas, interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, vascular medicine, vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, podiatry and neuroradiology, as well as fellows, and allied health professionals (including nurses, vascular clinic staff, endovascular operating room staff, catheterization laboratory and angiography suite staff, nurse practitioners, vascular technologists, and physicians assistants).
At the conclusion of the course, the targeted learners should be able:
Understand the current indications, risks, complications, and short and long-term results of various medical, interventional, and surgical therapies for the treatment of peripheral artery disease.
Utilize new and advanced medical, endovascular, and surgical techniques and approaches to improve the care and outcomes of patients.
Implement high quality guidelines based programs to overcome barriers to the identification and ideal care of all patients with non-cardiac vascular conditions.
Gain and then disseminate the most current knowledge base regarding vascular care as learned from experts in the field, exposure to live cases, and data from late-breaking clinical trials.
Increase knowledge in critical decision-making and the comprehensive spectrum of care for patients with stroke and intracranial and extracranial carotid artery disease.
Compare and best utilize the various endovascular technologies, open surgical techniques, and hybrid approaches, including risks and complications, for the treatment of patients with aortic diseases.
Enhance the understanding of venous physiology, anatomy, diseases, and management options across a variety of venous anatomies and pathology.
Understand state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment strategies that are consistent with findings in newly reported clinical trials.
The VEINS 16
VIVA welcomed The VEINS (Venous Endovascular INterventional Strategies) course to VIVA 15 and is excited to bring it back for a second year in Las Vegas! The VEINS at VIVA returns with this multispecialty, focused, comprehensive symposium providing an in-depth look at a rapidly evolving field. From diagnosis and management strategies for superficial venous disease to the challenges of intervention for deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary emboli, the VEINS will provide new information to help you care for these complex patients.
A two-day interactive course held at Wynn Las Vegas will be focused on acute and chronic venous diseases, and offer a comprehensive analysis of the critical issues facing vascular specialists today. With pulmonary embolism representing the highest death rate of hospitalized patients and DVT episodes outnumbering heart attacks or strokes in the U.S. annually, it is now more important than ever to be at the forefront of new, state-of-the-art technologies.
The target audience for this CME activity is for interventional cardiologists, vascular medicine specialists, interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, internists, fellows and RT’s/NP’s/PA’s/RN’s interested in exploring cutting-edge and future strategies for venous treatment as well as those who are interested in a complete understanding of venous disease.
Upon completion of the The VEINS, the targeted learners should be able to:
Understand the contemporary medical, endovascular, surgical, and emerging therapies for chronic venous disease.
Appreciate the role of physiologic testing, duplex ultrasonography, and CT and MR venography in the management of venous disease.
Appreciate the available therapeutic options and analyze the emerging evidence in the management of superficial and deep vein disease.
Analyze the guidelines and available data for the medical and interventional management of pulmonary embolism.
As the global education course for vascular medicine and intervention, we strive to offer the most innovative learning techniques and environments to engage over 2,000 attendees from multiple specialties (Interventional Cardiology - 37%, Vascular Surgery - 29%, Interventional Radiology - 15%, Clinical Cardiology - 7%, Vascular Medicine - 4%, Cardiothoracic Surgery - 3%, Other - 5%) around the world. Attendees from VIVA 15 represented 45 states and 34 countries.
VIVA continues to expand its educational platforms, utilizing emerging technologies and enhancing the experience for all attendees and this year is no exception. Dr. Kolluri returns to join the VIVA team to produce The VEINS course at VIVA, complete with a multispecialty faculty, hands-on workshops, and intimate breakout discussions. The 6th annual VEINS conference will take place on Saturday, September 17 – Sunday, September 18, 2016.
We recognize the importance of our supporters and exhibitors in creating a successful conference, and hope you will join us as we celebrate 14 years of providing premier education for those dedicated to treating patients with vascular diseases.
