Event Overview:

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. ASAPS sponsors, co-sponsors and endorses a variety of educational meetings throughout the year. ASAPS reserves the right to restrict admission to its meetings.

The Annual Meeting of ASAPS and ASERF (Aesthetic Surgery Education & Research Foundation) is held each spring. This meeting is widely recognized as the most important event, nationally and internationally, for clinical education and research in aesthetic surgery.

Scientific Sessions Learning Objectives:
Achieve reproducible, safe aesthetic surgical outcomes.
Assess new creativity in delivering optimum results for each individual patient through mastering the interplay of aesthetic variables, the new non-surgical modalities and techniques and their interactions with classic procedures.
Analyze case studies on the treatment of complications.
Interpret and apply Evidence-Based Medicine principles in your aesthetic surgery practice.
Identify the controversies and challenges of today’s aesthetic surgery procedures and practices.
Identify emerging techniques and trends in cosmetic surgery and cosmetic medicine and their potential applications in your practice.
Recognize the latest techniques in the prevention of, and treatment of, complications.
Develop a plan to implement an ethical, effective and interactive work environment.
Employ business and marketing strategies to enhance practice performance.
Differentiate the levels of evidence of upcoming modalities and the appropriateness for incorporating them into your practice.
Incorporate a “culture of safety” into your practice.
Communicate effectively to prevent unrealistic patient expectations.

About Educational Courses
The purpose of Optional Courses and Special Seminars is to provide the opportunity for in-depth exposure to specific techniques and topics, as well as more personalized contact with recognized leaders in aesthetic surgery.  The educational objectives are stated from the perspective of what the attendee can expect to implement into their practice or what they can expect to attain from participating in the course.
