SGO is the premier national medical specialty society for physicians trained in the comprehensive management of reproductive cancers in women. Our purpose is to improve the care of women with gynecologic cancers by encouraging research, disseminating knowledge, which will raise the standards of practice in the prevention and treatment of gynecologic malignancies and cooperating with other organizations interested in women's health care, oncology and related fields.

SGO members have convened annually since the Society's inception in 1968. Forty-two years later, the Annual Meeting on Women's Cancer is the premier educational and scientific event for health professionals who care for women with gynecologic cancers.

The SGO Annual Meeting on Women's Cancer offers a variety of exceptional educational experiences, as well as a wide range of opportunities to network with colleagues and friends from across the country and the globe.  Set in a venue that reflects the fast-paced nature of this surgical sub-specialty, the SGO Annual Meeting will attract over 1800 members and guests ranging from gynecologic oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, obstetricians, gynecologists, fellows and residents in the area of OB/GYN and GYN oncology, nurses, scientists, health care professionals, pharmaceutical and device company representatives and others involved in the care of patients with gynecologic malignancies.
