The history of Bike New York is the history of the Five Boro Bike Tour, and it all started with an audacious plan to take a group of high schoolers on a ride across New York City. Every year since 1977, on the first Sunday in May, we welcome 32,000 cyclists from every state in the nation and more than 60 countries around the world to NYC for an experience of the Big Apple unlike any other.
The nation’s most-attended consumer bike expo
On the two days leading up to the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, more than 32,000 cyclists roll through Basketball City to meet, greet, and talk shop with one another and 120 exhibitors - from big brands like Raleigh and Campagnolo to well-known retailers like REI and Paragon Sports, local innovators such as Vespertine, and bike advocacy nonprofits like People for Bikes. The Expo also serves as the Packet Pickup location for Tour riders.
