EVENT OVERVIEW:

The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine is an organization dedicated to the optimization of pregnancy and perinatal outcomes. The SMFM carries out this mission through education in research, dissemination of research knowledge, advocacy for increasing resources for research, and by increasing awareness of the importance and impact of such research on MFM patients and the public. As the largest conference in North America focusing on maternal-fetal research and treatment, the SMFM 35th Annual Meeting will present cutting-edge basic, clinical, and epidemiological research. In addition to oral and poster presentations, attendees will hear from worldrenowned leaders in the specialty of maternal-fetal medicine.

About SMFM

The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine was established in 1977 and is the membership organization for obstetricians/gynecologists who have additional formal education and training in Maternal-Fetal medicine. There are currently about two thousand active members of the Society. The Society hosts an annual scientific meeting in which new ideas and research in the area of Maternal-Fetal Medicine are presented and there are additional frequent Continuing Medical Education courses provided by our members throughout the world. The Society is also an advocate for improving public policy and expanding research funding and opportunities in the area of maternal-fetal medicine.
