For over 40 years, PRIM&R has hosted educational events where professionals gather to deconstruct, discuss, and debate issues affecting the world of research ethics and oversight and to network with colleagues in the field.
The 2015 Advancing Ethical Research (AER) Conference will bring together more than 2,200 professionals from public and private institutions, the federal government, industry, and academia.
Always an irreplaceable learning and networking opportunity, this dynamic conference includes educational offerings for professionals involved in every facet of the research enterprise. Through engaging and informative keynote addresses, a series of thought-provoking panels on timely ethical issues, and highly practical breakout sessions , attendees will gain important insights on the fields of research ethics and human subject protections, increase their knowledge and understanding of ethical requirements, learn best practices and strategies for their implementation, and sharpen their skills for dealing with myriad of late-breaking and longstanding challenges. This meeting will also feature a poster gallery composed of novel approaches to the management, function, and operations of HRPPs/IRBs and empirical studies or conceptual analysis of challenging issues related to the conduct or oversight of research involving human subjects.
Topics will include:
Community engagement and involvement
Comparative effectiveness research
Education and training
Mobile applications and internet-based research

In 2015, we’re expecting more than 2,300 participants from 50 states and more than 30 countries who represent a variety of perspectives, including IRB chairs, members, administrators, and staff, human research protections program professionals, federal agency representatives, industry representatives, researchers and research staff, institutional officials, ethicists, and community leaders.
PRIM&R strives to deliver an educational experience that will help our attendees better understand and respond to the complexities of rapidly changing research and regulations.
