The Annual Convention is the premiere event for the organization which encompasses members from around the world...The goal of this convention is to provide members with the pipeline to continue to strive for success in one’s academics, profession, and community.
The Annual Convention gives its participants the opportunity to network with peers and technical professionals, enhance personal and technical skills, and provides accessibility to top technical corporations and graduate schools throughout the United States. Corporations involved with the convention also have the ability to recruit the most qualified and diverse candidates.
The purpose of the Annual Convention is to bring together officers, leaders, and members in a centralized location to conduct the business of NSBE by reporting the year's accomplishments, and to disseminate information to the membership at large.
NSBE Innovations Corner (formerly known as the NSBE Tech Expo)
The NSBE Innovations Corner is one of the premiere events of the 2013 Annual Convention. Every year, the convention welcomes companies and members to showcase their products at convention for members to enjoy. Read below for more details on the 2013 Annual Convention NSBE Innovations Corner.
The vision for the NSBE Innovations Corner is for companies to interactively showcase their latest R&D projects for the purpose of educating the NSBE membership and marketing themselves as an exciting place to work. Companies will setup learning stations, workstations, and activities to simulate the experience of engineer at their company. Various fields of engineering and applied science will be represented. Participants will walk away with an understanding of what the day-to-day work is like for an engineer at a particular company and learn about research ideas they can help realize. Companies will have a wonderful opportunity to persuade NSBE members to apply to intern, co-op, or work for them. As an auxiliary to the career fair, companies will have a place to interactively show potential employees what they can look forward to if they work for them. NSBE Special Interest Groups (SIGs) will also be highlighted in this area of the Expo. Companies interested in participating in the Innovations Corner must complete the Innovations Registration Packet (pages 4-5) and return to NSBE WHQ.
