The National Space Society (NSS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3)(h) grass-roots educational advocacy organization formed in 1987 through the merger of the National Space Institute (founded by Wernher von Braun) and the L5 Society and now comprises over 50 chapters across the U.S. and around the world. NSS is the “Big-Tent” space advocacy organization that provides an enduring resource advancement off the Earth.
