Highway safety and public health go together on the road toward zero traffic fatalities. The 2012 GHSA Annual Meeting will explore highway safety from the public health perspective, focusing on how to apply successes in public health and highway safety to continue improving safety on our nation’s roadways. The meeting also will examine how highway safety professionals can work more closely with the public health community to make highway safety a top public health priority.
The GHSA Annual Meeting features an exhibition of highway safety-related products and services offered by private companies, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, law enforcement and many others. Exhibitors will share the latest in highway safety technology, materials, equipment and services.
GHSA represents the state and territorial highway safety offices that implement programs to address behavioral highway safety issues, including: occupant protection, impaired driving, and speeding. GHSA provides leadership and advocacy for the states and territories to improve traffic safety, influence national policy, enhance program management and promote best practices.
