Ethical Issues in Global Health Research: Blending Cultures, Building Capacity, and Bolstering Collaboration

Overview

This program covers a broad range of topics relating to clinical research conducted around the globe. Participants address key challenges facing institutional and ethics review board professionals in reviewing, monitoring and conducting international research. Participants will explore the critical issues facing those in global health research and gain the tools necessary for addressing these challenges.

Who Should Participate:

Participants in this dynamic program are health care leaders who wish to adapt their knowledge and skills to the constantly changing field, including:

  • U.S. IRB chairs, members and administrators, who review, approve, and manage international research
  • Ethics committee chairs and administrators around the world
  • Investigators conducting human research including biomedical, social behavior, public health, and community-based research in different countries and cultural settings
  • Research ethicists, educators, and graduate students
  • Anyone interested in promoting global research collaborations and capacity building
