Event Overview:

Conference Theme, "Leading Excellence"

Plenary Session
The plenary session of the CIM 2016 Convention is intended to bring focus and dialogue around the selected conference theme. So for CIM 2016, it is imperative to enlist thought leaders to the panel who have been successful in reaching out to diverse stakeholders to either share the benefits of mining or draw them to the business.  And the panel is not be limited to just mining personalities. There are examples from other sectors where people have been able to adapt to new ways and livelihoods that are sustainable.

These thought leaders have been successful in creating opportunities for a variety of stakeholders, particularly those who have not traditionally engaged in mining. Plenary speakers will be from the mining sector, other heavy industry, government, or charitable organizations.

In the end, CIM has enlisted a diverse panel that can enlighten the audience as to what is possible and embolden them to do what is necessary such that “Leading Excellence” has meaning beyond the conference halls.

Technical Program
The Technical Program is organized under seven thematic streams to facilitate the conference experience.

Participants may choose depending on their roles and interests.

    Global Dimensions of Mining
    Rock Mechanics, Geology and Exploration
    The Mining Footprint

    Innovations and New Ideas
    Excellence in Operations
    Management and Finance Day

All sessions will focus on a vision of excellence and best practices with ideas, opportunities, solutions and case studies showcasing ways to advance performance in all aspects of these general themes.
