"The Champion's Code,” is all about the DNA of what makes champions in sports so unique and how that relates to running a better business. It’s based on a series of books he wrote in which he was able to interview more than one thousand professional athletes and coaches that all had one thing in common — they were all members of championship teams. In his research he concluded that the same metrics and characteristics that were common among champions in sports, were also common in peak performers in business. Ross challenges his audiences to think about the differentiators they possess which would ultimately lead customers to choose to do business with them, or be influenced by them. His PowerPoint is full of amazing photos about inspirational sports stories and about successful teams that tie into ethics and accountability, and about doing things the right way — with respect. There are reasons certain teams win consistently, whereas others don't... and he explains why. It's based largely on the "Good to Great" concept of how the best companies are able to separate themselves from the rest of the pack through servant leadership, by creating a culture of excellence, and by giving extraordinary customer service. He weaves sports stories, about the DNA of champions, along with stories of companies who he has worked with — and shares best practice ideas on ways to grow sales, to be a more effective leader, to be more accountable in the workplace, and to ultimately build stronger relationships.

The best-selling author of close to 50 sports books, Ross Bernstein is an award-winning, hall of fame peak performance business speaker who’s keynoted conferences on five continents for audiences as small as 10 and as large as 10,000. Ross and his books have been featured on thousands of television and radio programs over the years, including CNN, ESPN, CBC, Fox News, and CBS This Morning, as well as in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and USA Today. As a working member of the media in his home state of Minnesota, Ross has a unique behind-the-scenes access to all of the local sports franchises in the area, including the Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, Wild, and Gophers. As such, he spends lots of his time in dugouts, clubhouses, locker rooms, and press boxes — and it’s there where Ross has met and interviewed thousands of professional athletes over the years.

John O’Leary

Engagement: According to a Gallup poll, 70% of the workforce is not engaged. John dramatically “wakes people up” to realize their role and responsibility is significant. Culture: John helps organizations build a positive atmosphere to increase creativity and productivity. Audiences learn how to reignite an environment built on shared goals, values, and focus. Communication: John outlines unconventional communication methods to dramatically (and positively) impact relationships.

In 1987, John O’Leary was a curious 9-year-old boy. Playing with fire and gasoline, John created a massive explosion in his home and received burns on 100% of his body. He was given a 1% chance to live. This epic story of survival was first showcased in his parents’ book, Overwhelming Odds, in 2006. Originally printing 200 copies for friends and family, his parents have sold more than 60,000 copies, most in back-of-room sales at John’s speaking events. It was this book that first inspired John to embrace his miraculous recovery and share it with the world.

John speaks to about 50,000 people at more than 100 events each year. He presents to companies and organizations across varied industries, including sales, health care, business, safety, marketing, financial services, faith, education, and insurance.
