The California International Marathon (CIM) was founded in 1983 by the Sacramento Running Association (SRA) and brought a world-class running event to the Sacramento area.
The same course developed then, and used today, provides runners with a very fast, point-to-point, net-downhill marathon with a spectacular finish in front of the California State Capitol.
The CIM is certified and sanctioned by USATF, and therefore is a Boston Marathon qualifier and an Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier.
The Bank of the West CIM Relay Challenge and 2.62-mile maraFUNrun & Fitness Walk are also part of the California International Marathon.
Featuring interactive exhibits, live entertainment, expert speaker panels, the official CIM merchandise store, product trials and all things marathon, the CIM Health & Fitness Expo is one of the highlights of race weekend.
The CIM Health & Fitness Expo annually hosts over 75 exhibitors featuring the brand-new designs in running gear and shoes, as well as the latest developments in sports, fitness, and nutrition. In addition, the Expo is the home of CIM participant packet pick-up for all marathon, relay and maraFUNrun participants and offers runners an opportunity to network with the CIM Pace Team leaders. The two-day CIM Health & Fitness Expo is free and open to the public.
