Dr. David T. Feinberg is president and chief executive officer of Geisinger Health System, one of the nation’s largest health services organization known for reinventing medical care. Geisinger is an integrated healthcare system consisting of 12 hospital campuses, two research centers, the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, over 30,000 employees, 1,600 employed physicians, 420 residents and fellows, and a 551,000-member health plan, all serving and caring for more than 3 million residents in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
A longtime champion of the patient experience, Dr. Feinberg has caught the industry’s attention by introducing Geisinger’s latest evolution of its renowned ProvenCare® portfolio -ProvenExperience® - which allows patients to request a refund based on the outcome of their patient experiences.
Triple-board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in child, adolescent and addiction psychiatry, Dr. Feinberg earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated with distinction from the University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School. He earned a master’s of business administration from Pepperdine University.
President/CEO of MemorialCare Health System
Arbuckle is President/CEO of MemorialCare Health System, a leading Southern California non-profit integrated health care system with over 200 sites of care. Under his leadership, MemorialCare has experienced unprecedented growth and financial performance, growing in prominence regionally and nationally. He appeared on the cover of multiple business magazines noting MemorialCare’s leadership in clinical information, evidence-based medicine, financial and management systems, and preparing for health care reform. He is currently the Chair of March of Dimes-California, Chair-Elect of Integrated Healthcare Association, member of the Healthcare Leadership Council in Washington, DC, and past-Chair of the California Hospital Association.
He speaks nationally and internationally on a variety of topics in health care, including Health System Strategy; Economic Comparisons of U.S. and International Health Care; and Healthcare Reform and the ACA. A graduate of Missouri State University, Arbuckle earned his master’s degree from Arizona State University and a Ph.D. from University of North Carolina. He served on the adjunct faculty for the departments of psychology, sociology, and the graduate school of nursing at California State University Long Beach. He is married with four children.
Independent Consultant and Senior Vice President, Operations, Catholic Health Initiatives
Ruth W. Brinkley is an independent consultant and Senior Vice President, Operations, Catholic Health Initiatives, and President/CEO of KentuckyOne Health. KentuckyOne Health was formed when Jewish Hospital & Saints Mary’s HealthCare and Saint Joseph Health System came together in early 2012. In late 2012, the organization formed a partnership with the University of Louisville Hospital (ULH) and James Graham Brown Cancer Center (JGBCC). The system’s vision was to improve the health of Kentuckians by integrating medical research, education, technology and health care services wherever patients receive care. KentuckyOne Health has more than 200 locations including hospitals, ambulatory surgery and urgent care centers, physician and provider practices, clinics, primary care centers, specialty institutes and home health agencies. With nearly 12,000 employees and more than 3100 licensed beds across the state of Kentucky and southern Indiana, KentuckyOne Health is Kentucky’s largest health system. In July 2017, the KentuckyOne Health partnership with ULH and JGB will end and the majority of KentuckyOne’s Louisville assets will be sold. KentuckyOne will concentrate on its legacy Saint Joseph facilities in Central and Eastern Kentucky. Brinkley has announced her departure from the system effective July 14, 2017. She will remain as an advisor to the Interim CEO until September 15, 2017.
A native of Georgia, Brinkley is a registered nurse experienced in working with private, public, academic, community–based, healthcare organizations, health systems and joint partnerships. Prior to joining KentuckyOne Health, Brinkley served as president and chief executive officer of Southern Arizona’s largest health system, Carondelet Health Network, part of Ascension Health. She was also responsible for overseeing Ascension’s operations in Idaho and Washington. Prior to joining Carondelet, Brinkley held several executive roles with Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), including president and chief executive officer of Memorial Health Care System in Chattanooga, TN; national senior vice president for performance management where she led system-wide financial turnarounds, operations improvement initiatives; and regional facilities within the mid-west and southeast. She also served as an executive operations turnaround consultant as a chief nurse and associate dean of clinical practice; and in various healthcare leadership and clinical roles.
Brinkley holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from De Paul University, an honorary Doctoral degree from Spaulding University, and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is a frequent speaker on leadership, health care delivery, leading and integrating complex organizations, and leading in turbulent times.
Often recognized for her accomplishments, she has received several honors and awards, including being consistently named as one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women in Healthcare and Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare, and one of Becker’s 10 Most Admired CEOs.
