On behalf of the Applied Technology Council (ATC) and the Structural Engineering Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), you are invited to join us in San Francisco on December 10-12, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Following the success of the 2009 conference, this state-of-the-industry forum continues the effort of improving the seismic performance of existing buildings and other structures.
The program is being planned to provide a forum for the presentation and exchange of new information on the seismic evaluation and seismic rehabilitation of existing buildings, including case studies, new discoveries, innovative use of new technologies and materials, implementation issues, needed improvements to existing standards and methods, and socio-economic issues. The goal is to provide an invaluable opportunity to advance the understanding of the tools, techniques, and innovations available to assist the attendees in meeting the challenges of seismic evaluation and rehabilitation.
Reasons to Attend
- Earn up to 14 Professional Development Hours (PDHs)
- Hear Interesting Key Note Speakers
- Learn from educational technical sessions
- Network with colleagues and leaders in your field
- Exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities
- Honor the Champions of Resilience at the Awards Dinner
The ATC & SEI 2nd Conference on Improving the Seismic Performance of Existing Buildings and Other Structures is a state-of-the-industry forum for the presentation and exchange of new information on the seismic evaluation and seismic rehabilitation of existing buildings, including case studies, new discoveries, innovative use of new technologies and materials, implementation issues, needed improvements to existing standards and methods, and socio- economic issues.
This Conference will be a great venue to exhibit tools, techniques, and innovations available to assist the attendees in meeting the challenges of seismic evaluation and rehabilitation.

The Applied Technology Council (ATC) is a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation established in 1973 through the efforts of the Structural Engineers Association of California. ATC's mission is to develop and promote state-of-the-art, user-friendly engineering resources and applications for use in mitigating the effects of natural and other hazards on the built environment. ATC also identifies and encourages needed research and develops consensus opinions on structural engineering issues in a nonproprietary format. ATC thereby fulfills a unique role in funded information transfer.
The Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) was established on October 1, 1996 in order to serve the unique needs of the structural engineering community while influencing change on the broader issues shaping the entire civil engineering community. SEI is a vibrant, 20,000+ community of structural engineers within the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 144,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide and is America’s oldest national engineering society geared to the advancement of science and profession of engineering to enhance the welfare of humanity.
