ART SAN DIEGO Contemporary Art Show is San Diego’s largest and oldest contemporary art show. ASD annually presents an international collection of established and emerging galleries in beautiful Balboa Park. The show venue is a 60,000 square-foot activity center, designed by award-winning architect Rob Wellington Quigley and enhanced by beautiful landscaping, public art and spacious outdoor plazas at the north and south end of the building.
ART SAN DIEGO also features a wide range of compelling special programs for attendees and exhibitors alike. Highlights include the following:
Spotlight Artist Program
This program gives collectors a focused look at several cutting-edge emerging artists.
Our ART LABS feature curated projects by leading local art institutions, alternative spaces and universities within the show.
Each year, we offer a young unrepresented artist the opportunity to present a site-specific exhibition within the show.
The 2013 Edition of ASD welcomed over 14,000 visitors and showcased over 80 exhibitors from across the globe. Over the course of the four-day event, the show also featured numerous special events, talks and performances.
Since its launch in 2009 ART SAN DIEGO has steadily increased attendance and expanded our Collector Club list. In 2013 we welcomed over 14,000 art enthusiasts. Through our involvement with local art institutions, our collector club program, and through client entertainment with our Sponsors and Museum Partners we are connected with over 40,000 collectors.
ART SAN DIEGO features an architecturally designed floor plan with well-appointed booths and a central gathering area. Wide, spacious aisles allow for smooth flow of traffic and streamlined browsing.
