Sponsorship Details:
PROFESSORSHIP Recognizing Generosity and Friendship: The John and Bette Klacsmann Visiting Professorship was established through the generous philanthropy of the late John and Bette Klacsmann. Longtime patients and cherished friends, Mr. and Mrs. Klacsmann generously counted Mayo Clinic among their philanthropic interests over many years. With their support this lecture has been held annually since 1996, allowing Mayo Clinic in Florida to invite outstanding individuals from the medical and scientific community to share knowledge and facilitate interactions that help advance medical research and improve our ability to treat, diagnose and prevent disease. The impact is far-reaching, and the beneficiaries are both the patients we treat today and those we will care for tomorrow. After Mrs. KlacmannTMs passing in 2010, her sons provided a generous gift from her estate to endow the Klacsmann Professorship, creating a permanent source of funding which ensures the lecture in perpetuity. Mayo Clinic continues to be grateful to the Klacsmann family for generously supporting the advancement of medical education. Through their legacy, they have helped contribute to a tradition of philanthropy and progress that will sustain our patients and staff for generations to come.
