Event Overview:

The AAP National Conference & Exhibition (AAP Experience) is the forum for AAP member and non-member physicians, residents, medical students, nurses and allied health members to convene for practical updates and reviews of pediatric practice, research, and advocacy. The conference is the premier pediatric educational event, providing approximately 350 sessions in nearly 60 content areas in varying educational formats. The exhibit hall features the latest pediatric medical and pharmacologic products, services, resources, and technology.

The AAP National Conference & Exhibition (AAP Experience) is dedicated to keeping you abreast of the latest best practices in pediatrics. Goals and Objectives

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) continuing medical education (CME/CPD*) program aims to develop, maintain, and improve the competence, skills, and professional performance of pediatricians and pediatric healthcare professionals by providing quality, relevant, accessible, and effective educational experiences that address gaps in professional practice. The AAP Experience is the forum at which all pediatric professionals meet for updates, review of pediatric practice, research, and advocacy.

Instructional Objectives

The instruction (learning experience) in this activity will

    Provide education in pediatric health care including the most current information related to illness and preventive health care of neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.
    Create a forum for discussion of current issues and problems in pediatric health care.
    Instruct attendees on procedures related to patient health management.
    Inform, enable, and update attendees on practice management and policy.
    Support and train attendees in advocacy of issues related to child health.
    Address professional practice gaps of learners by linking needs with learning objectives and instruction.
    Match the educational content with the scope of practice of the learners and desirable physician attributes.

Learner Objectives

As a result of attending this activity, learners will be able to

    Practice evidence-based, informed pediatric medicine.
    Apply current techniques and procedures.
    Advocate effectively for issues related to children’s health.
    Demonstrate change in competence, performance, or patient outcomes.

Product theaters are non-CME educational presentations from exhibiting companies during the conference. It’s a great way to educate attendees about the hottest pediatric products and services. 

About AAP:

The AAP is a professional membership organization of 62,000 primary care pediatricians, pediatric medical sub-specialists and pediatric surgical specialists dedicated to the health, safety, and well being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults. The FAAP designation after a pediatrician's name stands for Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Pediatricians who maintain their FAAP designation have obtained initial board certification.
