In its 41st year the NSH Annual Symposium/Convention forms the largest educational event of its kind working to advance and promote the histology profession. NSH is the premier source of learning, knowledge and future-oriented research for histology professionals. Attendance provides resources, education, ideas and advocacy to enhance the performance in the laboratory and ultimately the best patient care.
The Symposium/Convention has the working laboratory in mind when planning 5 educational packed days of workshops. With so much to offer, you are able to have a flexible, customizable schedule. You can attend one workshop, 12 workshops or even the exhibit hall only. Customize a schedule that fits your time out of the lab and meets your educational and budget needs at the same time. This year we are excited to introduce our 60 minute troubleshooting workshops along with our 90 minute & 3 hour sessions. With over 125 unique learning opportunities, we are confident that you will find the format that is right for you.
Sessions & Scientific Exhibits will take place in the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. The resort is located in the beautiful waterfront entertainment district only 8 miles south of downtown Washington, DC. NSH has reserved rooms at the Gaylord and housing will open Spring 2015.

Our AttendeesLab managers, active histotechs and practicing pathologists depend on the Annual Symposium/Convention Trade Show to preview laboratory equipment, supplies and services for their busy labs around the world. Nine out of ten 2014 attendees were involved in or influence the purchasing decisions of their organization and three out of four had plans to purchase products or services as a result of attending the Symposium/Convention.
In 2014 we had 1,147 attendees. Of those 1147 attendees we had 202 international attendees representing 26 countries. The majority of international attendance is from Canada, Great Britain and Australia.
The National Society for Histotechnology was formed in 1973 by a group of dedicated histologists with the purpose of sharing scientific and technical knowledge to the histology community worldwide.
Today NSH is over four thousand members strong representing histology professionals from around the globe. It hosts a highly successful, annual Symposium/Convention that draws 1500 attendees from virtually every continent and it publishes a quarterly, world class journal, the Journal of Histotechnology. In addition NSH is home to Resource Committees for histotechnologists practicing in specific areas of the science and is the number one source of quality continuing education for histotechnologists. In addition to NSH Meetings we also maintain an Online Learning Center, and serve as contact hour provider for affiliate and organization partners in the histology community.
