The San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) is a division of Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC). The CTRC is an independent, non-profit institution directed by a volunteer Board of Governors committed to providing the highest quality cancer treatment, research and education.
The objective of the SABCS is to provide state-of-the-art information on the experimental biology, etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of breast cancer and premalignant breast disease, to an international audience of academic and private physicians and researchers.
The majority of the participants are physicians and researchers, with smaller representation by affiliated health care professionals. The 2006 audience was composed of 41% medical doctors and 11% research scientists. Registrations totaled 8017 and 83 countries (including US and Canada) were represented.
