The iHITA conference, the oldest research conference focusing solely on hospitality technology, is a successful forum for bringing together key players (such as educators, vendors, and researchers) of information technology in the global hospitality industry with the goal of improving the quality of education, research, and the technology itself.
The iHITA conference is a co-located conference with HITEC (www.hitec.org), the world’s largest hospitality technology show, and offers attendees the opportunity to interact with hospitality technology vendors and operators while experiencing the latest technology products and innovations at the exhibit floor.
Through iHITA’s various events, such as the Annual Conference, members have been able to conduct and present research, publish refereed and trade articles, test and evaluate emerging technologies, participate in IT industry initiatives and think tanks, keep abreast of technological innovations, and gain insights into how to adapt and evolve curricula/business plans to meet rapidly changing industry needs.
iHita is a global association of educators and practitioners whose mission is to advance the use of information technology in the hospitality industry through education and research.
Our organization traces its roots back to an organization which was founded on January 26, 1992 by a group of hospitality educators, industry practitioners and Information Technology vendors. The desire was to advance the interaction between users, vendors and educators in the field of hospitality information technology with the goal of improving both the quality of education and the technology itself. Today, iHITA has members across the globe and enjoys the support of premier institutions and organizations dedicated to hospitality technology and education.
