The AERA Annual Meeting is the largest gathering of scholars in the field of education research. It is a showcase for ground-breaking, innovative studies in a diverse array of areas -- from early education through higher education, from digital learning to second language literacy. It is where to encounter ideas and data that will shape tomorrow's education practices and policies, and where to connect with leading thinkers from the U.S. and around the world.
At the 2014 Annual Meeting, more than 14,400 came together for 2,400 sessions featuring over 10,000 presenters.
AERA’s Annual Meeting is the premier event for professionals in the realm of education research. No other event draws as many scientists, scholars, and other related research professionals in the field. Over 13,500 attendees typically gather at in the AERA’s Annual Meeting. Approximately 15% of AERA Annual Meeting attendees are scholars from over 60 countries beyond the United States.
The American Educational Research Association (AERA), founded in 1916, is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and evaluation and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results.
AERA's more than 25,000 members are faculty, researchers, graduate students, and other distinguished professionals with rich and diverse expertise in education research. They work in a range of settings from universities and other academic institutions to research institutes, federal and state agencies, school systems, testing companies, and nonprofit organizations. Based on their research, they produce and disseminate knowledge, refine methods and measures, and stimulate translation and practical application of research results.
The broad range of disciplines represented by the membership includes education, psychology, statistics, sociology, history, economics, philosophy, anthropology, and political science.
