The ACOS provides physicians, residents in training, students, allied health professionals and exhibitors with three educational meetings through the year - the General Surgery In-depth Review Seminar, held in the winter/spring, the Urological Discipline Mid-Year Meeting, held in the summer, and the Annual Clinical Assembly of Osteopathic Surgeons, held in the fall. These meetings offer valuable educational programming, opportunities to network with osteopathic surgeons from around the country and to become reacquainted with old friends, and an opportunity to enjoy the host city. And, a variety of online webinars are held throughout the year that can be accessed conveniently from your PC.
The Annual Assembly provides osteopathic surgical specialists cutting-edge education and information regarding the practice of surgery and the latest pharmaceutical and medical device innovations. Half the attendees are general surgeons, with the rest specializing in the areas of cardiothoracic and vascular, neurological, plastic and reconstructive, proctological and urology.
The Annual Clinical Assembly of Osteopathic Surgeons brings together the vast majority of the nation’s osteopathic surgeons each year. 1,200-1,400 surgeons attend the ACA representing:

Collectively, the physicians who attend the ACA perform thousands of surgical procedures annually. Individually, they directly influence the purchase of products and services used in their hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, and office-based practices. This is the ideal venue to meet face-to-face and network with the nation’s osteopathic surgeons.
Ninety-three percent of the physicians who attend the ACA visit the Exhibit Hall.
The ACA provides cutting-edge education and information regarding the practice of surgery for osteopathic surgical specialists from across the United States. The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) was established January 26, 1927.
Our history began during an AOA conference in Louisville, KY, when a small group of surgeons opted to share a mission to set high education standards and provide continuing medical education to osteopathic surgeons.
