Event Description

CIDM and Dr. JoAnn Hackos announce the upcoming IDEAS Summer Online Conference, July 19-20, 2016. The IDEAS (Information Development Exploration Applications Solutions) Conference was formally known as the Online Conference and Online Forum. IDEAS will be presented in half-day, multi-track, one-hour sessions, with short breaks in between sessions.

The theme for this summer’s IDEAS is Agile Practices for Information Development. The combination of Agile development’s high speed, limited planning documentation, and short delivery cycles creates a unique set of challenges for documentation groups. These challenges require a shift in thinking about resource management, task allocation, and information quality and completeness. How can technical publications adapt and adopt the Agile manifesto to be applicable to the work we do? Our goal for this conference is to help managers determine if Agile methodologies are right for them and to share best practices for implementing Agile.
