NLC's premier gathering of city officials, the Congress of Cities is held each year in November or December in a selected city. The conference provides educational content on the most pressing challenges facing city leaders. Conference attendees hear from prominent speakers and issue experts, participate in leadership training sessions, attend issue-specific workshops, mobile workshops, and leadership training sessions.
Who Should Attend?
Anyone interested in how cities are solving problems and becoming greater places to live will benefit from attending. The conference is especially useful to mayors, council members, newly elected officials, city managers, and municipal department heads. Although membership in the National League of Cities is not required to attend, representatives from member cities enjoy discounted registration.
What You’ll Experience
At the Congress of Cities you’ll enjoy innovative sessions, mobile workshops, inspiring keynote addresses, skill-building seminars, and great opportunities to meet colleagues from across the country.
The exhibit hall brings attendees the latest products, services and ideas – direct from manufacturers, consultants, and specialists – and provides opportunities for idea sharing during the conference. Activities are planned in the exposition hall during the conference to give you the opportunity to meet and talk with exhibitors.
Business Begins With NLC
Present your products, services, and solutions to mayors, council members, administrators, city managers, and department directors who have the influence to impact business decisions in their communities.
The NLC Congress of Cities and Exposition is your opportunity to meet face-to-face with attendees who seek solutions for many of the same issues. Economic Development. Public Safety. Finance. Infrastructure. Sustainability. Transportation. Recreation. Waste Management. And more.
Four days of workshops, training, tours and roundtable discussions on topics critical to municipalities ensure that the audience of city leaders can help you reach business development goals by presenting your company/organization’s expertise and solutions to decision makers in their cities and towns. Major topics that will be covered include economic development, public safety, finance, infrastructure, sustainability, transportation and more.
If you offer products or services in the following areas, you’ll want to be there:
• Economic Development
• Infrastructure and Construction
• Family Welfare
• Parks and Recreation
• Public Safety
• Violence Prevention
• Transportation and Parking
