Each year in February/March, the AFA celebrates its rich heritage at its annual Convention. Highlights include the FIA MarketPlace, live horseshoeing competition, educational lectures, anatomy lab, and a great deal of socializing and camaraderie.
The FIA MarketPlace is held each year in conjunction with the American Farrier's Association Annual Convention in late February/early March.
Exhibitors showcase their products to over hundreds of registered professional farriers at the AFA Convention. This is a unique opportunity for suppliers, manufacturers and service providers of farrier-related products to directly reach out to their customer base. It is also a great way to do business with other vendors, learn from other FIA members and socialize with others in the farrier industry!
Today, the AFA represents farrier interests throughout the equine world. In addition to its primary concerns of promoting equine welfare and providing continuing education for working farriers and the equine community, the AFA stays abreast of the equine community and acts as an advocate for farriers in relations with veterinarians, breed and sport associations, and state and federal government agencies.
Founded in 1986, the Farrier Industry Association provides education about the horse industry, promotes sound business through training programs, and organizes trade shows. The FIA is also a corridor for communication within the industry.
We are horse owners, employees, service providers and volunteers. We are manufacturers, suppliers and retailers who sell farrier-related products. And we are friends.
