The Santa Barbara County Fair runs July 10th - 14th, 2013. You are sure to have a memorable time at the County Fair, with the theme of “Memories, Music & Magic”.
The First Annual “Santa Maria Valley Fair” was held in September of 1891. By 1920, the fairgrounds were located at the 700 block of East Main Street and were officially named the “Santa Barbara County Fair”. The fairgrounds moved to Hancock Field adjoining Miller Street and remained there until after World War II, then moved to the present location at Stowell Road and Thornburg Street. In 2000, in an effort to create a new image, the facility was renamed Santa Maria Fairpark, “Home of the Santa Barbara County Fair.”
Carnival rides, Traditional “Fair Foods”, and some not so “Traditional” items: live music of various kinds, local talent shows and dancing, free country rodeo - Animal, educational, agricultural and entertaining exhibits, junior livestock auction, kids/adventure land, Strolling comedy shows and entertainment, cooking shows, etc…
Fair features a different performance every night by big name world famous entertainers, (e.g. 2012 Entertainment included: Foreigner, Kellie Pickler, The Temptations and Sawyer Brown (FREE, w/paid admission into the Fair). Event features themed days including Fiesta Hispanic Day, Military Law Enforcement Day, Senior Day and Agriculture Day.
