The American Public Power Association (APPA) is the service organization for the nation's more than 2,000 community-owned electric utilities that serve more than 45 million Americans.
APPA's National Conference is the Association's premier annual event, attracting mayors, city council members, elected and appointed utility board members, and senior utility executives. Over 1,200 individuals active in the public power industry attend this event held each year in June. The conference is designed to address the key issues critical to the competitiveness of public power utilities and the quality of life in their communities. It also offers companies and other organizations an excellent opportunity to increase their presence in and access to the public power market.
APPA’s National Conference & Public Power Expo is public power’s largest annual meeting and provides broad-based, professional development for public power executives and policymakers on hot industry issues, such as:
- smart grid
- energy efficiency
- power supply, transmission/distribution, and fuels
