ASCLS [American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science] serves as the voice of all clinical laboratory professionals, creating a vision for the advancement of the clinical laboratory practice field, and advocating the value and the role of the profession ensuring safe, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient centered health care.

The Clinical Laboratory Educators' Conference (CLEC) is held in February each year.  This conference is an important annual event for faculty,administrators,directors, advisors and others in clinical laboratory science education. 

More than 500 clinical laboratory science educators attended last year's conference. A similar number are expected to attend this year's conference in Lauderdale. Participants will include department chairs, program directors, education coordinators, advisors and faculty members from hospital and college/university-based educational programs for clinical laboratory scientists and clinical laboratory technicians.
