The Italian tradition of street painting dates to the 16th century when itinerant artists would travel from town to town for religious festivals and transform the streets and public squares into temporary galleries for their works of art. Although their paintings lasted only until the next rain, the tradition has endured for more than 400 years.
The Street Painting Festival is free and open to the public on Saturday & Sunday, February 25 & 26, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Pastels are the medium and works produced are temporary. There are no fees!
The Street Painting Festival is a non-profit 501(c)-(3) corporation. Your contribution is tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Sponsorship dollars make possible the Street Painting Festival Scholarships, awarded to eligible graduating Palm Beach County High School students each May, as well as community projects associated with the arts.
